The 3 Basics steps of Content Marketing

The 3 Basics steps of Content Marketing

There are three basic steps to creating a marketing strategy. The Why, the Who, and the How. In this blog post we will be going over each step and how you can use them to better your marketing strategy. Let’s get started.

Why does our company exist?

The first step to your marketing strategy is to find the why in your company. Why is your product or service a need in your customers’ lives, and why should they work with you to get it? Create a mission statement for your company so you can know the exact results you are trying to get out of your work. A mission statement should define the companies agenda and goals, along with the overall culture, values or ethics you follow. Come up with why your product is superior to others, and what the problem is that you are trying to solve in your customers lives. Witch would bring you to the second step in the content marketing process;

Who is your buyer persona and how do you affect them?

You need to create a buyer persona that will help your strategy become more specific and impactful to your audience. The Hubspot Marketing Blog gives a good definition; “A buyer persona is a semi-fictional representation of your ideal customer based on market research and real data about your existing customers. When creating your buyer persona(s), consider including customer demographics, behavior patterns, motivations, and goals.” Use your buyer persona to customize each piece of content for premium results. Appeal to your audience’s emotions and needs to sell them your mission, and eventually your product.

How can you reach your buyer persona?

The third step is to find the best channels to use for your buyer persona. Social media, blogs, and email are all great ways to reach your audience. You can customize your process to your target audience by choosing specific media channels to post on, using tone and vocabulary that they will relate to and understand, using pictures and video, and even choosing a time of day to post that is best fit for them to see your content. Keeping these in mind, you can create content that your audience will want to read, share, and engage in. Knowing the how will also help you collect the data you need to adapt and remake your work to fit your personas specific needs.

These 3 marketing strategy steps will help you find a mission, create goals to follow, make your content more specific and impactful, and put your content into the media and the minds of your potential customers.
